BEVERLY HILLS, October 16, (THEWILL) – The #EndSWAT protest took another dimension on Friday when ‘Anonymous’ hacked the National Broadcasting Corporation, NBC Twitter account.
This happened barely 48 hours after viral audio released by an ‘Anonymous’ in solidarity with the #EndSARS protest, issued a 72-hour notice to the government to meet the demands of the Protesters or “risked hacking.”
Anonymous, which claims its members are legion, took over the Twitter account and posted a message which read, “Good morning, great Nigerians. TGIF and it’s also a good day to #ENDSARS and #EndSWAT Which government website(s) would you want us to play with? Drop your suggestions under this tweet. #TwitterDown #NBChacked”
“We #Anonymous will continue supporting Nigerians,” the hackers said in a message posted to NBC’s handle.
While confirming the hijack of its Twitter, NBC said it is working to regain the account.
