BEVERLY HILLS, November 22, (THEWILL) – Governor of Kaduna state, Nasir El-Rufai, has been appointed as the head of the ad-hoc committee that will review the ownership of the electricity distribution companies (DisCos).
The decision was reached on Thursday at the meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC).
This was announced by Emeka Ihedioha, governor of Imo state, after the meeting saying the National Council on Privatisation and Bureau of Public Procurement would also serve on the committee.
Governors representing the six geo-political zones on the Board of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company will also serve on the review committee.
The power sector was privatised in 2013 resulting in six generation companies and 11 distribution companies.
