BEVERLY HILLS, December 14, (THEWILL) – The draws for the next round of the Champions League fixtures have been made by UEFA.
The pick of the first knockout rounds that will titillate fans across Europe and the world in general is the Barcelona vs Paris Saint-Germain tie, which will pit Brazilian sensation Neymar against his former club and close friend, Argentine ace Lionel Messi.
It will also a replay of the incredible last 16 tie between the two in 2016/17, at a time when Neymar was instrumental to knocking out PSG from the competition in the colours of Barca.
Another intriguing fixture from the draw has La Liga side Atletico Madrid facing off against Chelsea with the promise of football sparks between two European heavyweights, just as is the tie where the 2019 winners Liverpool take on 2020 semi-finalists RB Leipzig.
According to the usual rules at this stage of the competition, the eight group winners were seeded. No club was drawn against the team that qualified from the same group, while country protection remained in place, so that no sides from the same nation were paired.

All first legs will be played on 16/17 and 23/24 February 2021, with reverse fixtures scheduled for 9/10 March and 16/17 March. For the quarter-finals and semi-finals, draws will take place two days after the round is concluded on Friday 19 March 2021.
The final match for the 2020/2021 season will be at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul on Saturday 29 May 2021. It was initially supposed to be the venue for the 2020 final before the pandemic broke out and led to changes.
