SAN FRANCISCO, October 14, (THEWILL) – Music producer, Don Jazzy, has joined the call to disband the newly created
Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit, which replaced the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS.
THEWILL recalls that the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Mohammed Adamu, had announced the formation of the new police unit to “fill the gaps” created by the disbanded SARS.
Reacting to this development, the producer tweeted: “They should just end this SWAT now before it starts o.
“Nobi tomorrow now they will say they spent money to do logo, spend money to do uniforms.
“Don’t spend any money o, end it now before it matures.”
THEWILL had earlier reported that former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, popular singer, Timi Dakolo and filmmaker, Frank Edoho and several others had condemned the new police unit and likened it to a mere change of name like NEPA to PHCN which has not yielded led to improved electricity.
