BEVERLY HILLS, January 16, (THEWILL) – Erstwhile Niger-Delta warlord, Chief Government Ekpemupolo, otherwise known as Tompolo has warned President Muhammadu Buhari to allow peace to reign in the Niger-Delta region if he wants to have rest of mind.
Tompolo disclosed this while denying allegations that he ordered his foot soldiers to blow up oil installations in Warri area of Delta State in response to the bench warrant slammed on him by a Federal High Court in Lagos and the desperation of the EFCC to nail him over an alleged N34bn fraud.
Speaking on Saturday through a statement issued by his media aide, Paul Bebenimibo, Tompolo said: “Well, I am sure this is what President Buhari is looking for. He should allow the people of the Niger Delta Region to know peace, otherwise he will not know peace as well.”
“I am not responsible for the attack and I condemn it as a dastardly act. I am aware that some persons might want to destroy oil installations and link it with me; that was why I said before time that I have nothing to do with it.
“I could not have gone ahead to carry out such action knowing that every finger will be pointed at me because of my case with the Federal Government,” he pointed out.
