Dignitaries Converge In Lekki As Buhari Inaugurates Dangote Fertiliser Plant

March 22, (THEWILL) – Lekki on Tuesday, played host to a convergence of governors from states, eminent Nigerians, traditional rulers and members of the international community.

The event is the official inauguration of the 3 million metric tonnes capacity Dangote Fertiliser plant expected to be performed by President Mohammadu Buhari.

The Dangote Fertiliser plant, which is fully owned by Dangote Industries, is expected to manufacture 3MMTPA of urea, cut Nigeria’s fertiliser imports, and generate $400m annual foreign exchange, in export to African countries.

Among dignitaries awaiting the arrival of President Mohammadu Buhari to perform the commissioning are Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Party (APC) leader, the governors of Ekiti, Borno, Delta, Niger, Ogun, Kano, Cross Rivers, Osun, Kogi, Nasarawa, Jigawa, and Kebbi States, among others.

Also seated are Jim Ovia, the Founder and Chairman of Zenith Bank Plc, Tony Elumelu, Chairman of the United Bank for Africa and founder of Tony Elumelu Foundation, Femi Otedola, His Royal Majesty, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife and Chancellor, the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, among others.

Others include the Minister of Transportation, Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, Segun Awolowo, former governor of Ogun State, Chief Olusegun Osoba and his counterparts from Plateau and Gombe States, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairperson/CEO, NIDCOM, Tony Momoh, CEO, ChannelsTelevision, Mrs Maiden Ibru, Publisher of The Guardian Newspapers. among others.
