SAN FRANCISCO, October 12, (THEWILL) – Singer David Adeleke, popularly called Davido, says he was not a part of the #EndSARS protest in Abuja on Sunday, saying he was just with the group of protesters, who are mostly his fans, to douse the tension.
THEWILL writes that the nationwide protests entered day 4 Monday.
The singer said this during a meeting with the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu.
In a live stream on Instagram on Monday, he revealed that the IGP did not allow his team into the meeting on the premise that he had taken sides with the protesters.
“The point I am trying to make is that you identified with the protesters yesterday,” the IGP said.
Responding, the ‘Fia’ crooner said: “I did not protest, I was not there to protest. I had to identify with them because they are my fans and I was there to calm them down”.
“I am trying to say that you’ve already taken actions that have projected you as playing the true voice of the young people on the street,” he continued.
