SAN FRANCISCO, September 16, (THEWILL) – It was a rain of naira in Lagos on September 11, 2013, for the distributors of Dangote Cement as the management of the company splashed about N800 million on them as their sales bonus for 2012.
A statement from the company said the excited distributors from all states of the federation including Abuja, received various sums ranging from N2 million to N60 million as the Chairman of Dangote Cement Plc, Aliko Dangote, who handed them the cheques, promised that the company would do more as their sales improve.
Welcoming the distributors and other customers of the company to the distributors’ award ceremony themed “Cementing Partnership,” Dangote said the event was put together in recognition of the distributors’ long standing commitment, devotion, loyalty and valuable contribution to the distribution and sale of Dangote Cement in 2012.
Dangote said: “Indeed today, Dangote Cement’s success story would not have been possible without you, our distributors, who work tirelessly to ensure that the product gets to our customers in every nook and cranny of the country. We can never thank you enough! You have been an integral and vital part of our business over the years.”
He said the forum was intended to explore ways of further cementing the existing cordial relationship with distributors to create more value for all stakeholders, in line with the triple bottom line principle: people, planet and profits, which the company has embraced.
According to him, any organisation that aspires to be ahead of the competition, must explore ways of not only knowing the expectations of its customers, but also how to exceed them. Based on the Group’s ongoing expansion across Africa, he said the future is bright for all its stakeholders.
In his vote of thanks, Mr. Emeka Emesowun, one of the top distributors of the company, thanked the management for the bonus saying the development has further confirmed that Dangote cement is the leader.
