Covid-19 Is Not A Family Secret, Speak Out If Infected – Actress, Mary Njoku

BEVERLY HILLS, January 18, (THEWILL) – Nollywood actress and film producer, Mary Njoku, has enjoined patients of COVID-19 to stop making a secret of the disease and disclose their health status always to help create more public awareness about the virus.

Njoku made this known in an Instagram Post on Monday as she frowned at the stigmatization of those who had contracted the disease.

The movie star and entrepreneur tasked everyone to stop seeing the virus as a ‘family secret’ and called for more awareness about it.

Njoku also stated that it was time Africans jettisoned the mentality that the virus was a spiritual disease, saying that such beliefs would only curtail the efforts to combat the virus.

“Dear Africans, COVID-19 is not a family secret. If you’re infected, telling everyone you have been in contact with will not reduce your chances of getting better. God bless you as you do so,” she wrote.

“Coronavirus isn’t spiritual, it is beyond your village people. So don’t be afraid to let people know you had or still have it. Save lives!”

THEWILL recalls that a few months ago, Jason Njoku, her husband and CEO of IrokoTV, was discharged from the hospital after contracting the virus.
