BEVERLY HILLS, October 30, (THEWILL) – The return match for the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League semifinal between Zamalek of Egypt and Raja Casablanca of Morocco has been postponed. The fixture earlier scheduled for Sunday, November 1 has been moved to a date that is as yet undecided, CAF said on Thursday.
The Raja squad was hit by a wave of positive tests for the coronavirus, leaving only 10 fit players, according to an official of the Casablanca club. Zamalek hold a 1-0 away advantage from the first leg in Casablanca. The Moroccan forward Achraf Bencharki scored the only goal midway through the first half.
CAF also announced that the final between the winner of the Zamalek vs Raja tie and Al Ahly of Egypt, billed for an Egyptian venue on Friday, November 6, has also been postponed indefinitely.
