BEVERLY HILLS, June 24, (THEWILL) – Edo State High Court has affirmed Osagie Ize-Iyamu as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC)
In its ruling, the court dismissed the challenge filed by party members loyal to Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki over Ize-Iyamu’s legality to contest in the governorship primary election of the APC.
Ruling on Thursday, the State High Court dismissed the suit completely on the grounds that it was founded on assumptions, speculations, conjectures and guess work.
The Presiding Judge, in his ruling, said there were no facts presented to back Obaseki’s claims that Ize-Iyamu is not worthy of being a member of the ruling party.
The Court held that the Membership card presented by Ize-Iyamu conclusively shows that he is a member of the Party, and those challenging it presented no convincing evidence to state otherwise.

In addition, the court held that the membership of a party is an internal affair of the political party and as such, it is matter not in the jurisdiction of the court.
It says it has no jurisdiction to interfere in the matter, bringing it to a final resting point.
