Constituency Project: Rep Donates Solar Powered Borehole To NUJ Cross River

November 03, (THEWILL) – As part of his Constituency Project, a member of the house of representatives representing Calabar Municipality and Odukpani, Hon. Eta Mbora has donated a solar powered borehole to the Cross River State Chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalists.

The solar powered borehole which is sited at the Ernest Etim Bassey Press Centre has reached over 50% completion rate.

It aims to serve not just journalists but members of the community who desire quality water.

Speaking while inspecting the level and quality of work at the site, Comrade Victor Udu, the Chairman of the NUJ CRS commended Hon. Mbora for bringing the project to the press centre and the state housing community.

He said it speaks volumes of the concern of the representative to the needs of ordinary people.

“This is amazing and we deeply appreciate this gesture.

“It goes to show that, he appreciates the role of the media in nation building

“This is a big way of giving back to society. I am happy; the entire Journalists in the State are happy over this project, ” he said.

Comrade Udu said though the project is meant for all people living in the vicinity siting it inside NUJ premises would ensure sustainability and better service to the people

Also speaking, Mrs Eme Offiong, Chairperson of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the NUJ described the project as very encouraging and a welcome development.

‘Infact, I cannot wait for it to be concluded. It is indeed a big relief because for quite a long time there was no pipe borne in Calabar.

“With this now, NUJ and residents around will have Normal flow of water. It is really a huge relief. God will bless him, ” she said.

Besides the project, Hon. Mbora has also facilitated the construction of several classroom blocks and road projects across the Constituency.
