SAN FRANCISCO, June 17, (THEWILL) – UEFA has chosen Cologne’s RheinEnergieStadion to host this year’s Europa League final.
According to available information, the competition is expected to end in August across four German venues.

THEWILL recalls that the 2019/20 UEFA Europa League final was supposed to be staged in Gdansk, Poland on May 27 but the coronavirus pandemic interrupted football proceedings.

With the last-16 yet to be completed and time becoming a factor, the format of the final stages of the competition has been changed with the quarterfinals, semifinals and final now scheduled to hold in North Rhine-Westphalia.

The new arrangement according to UEFA is that the quarterfinals will be played on August 10 and 11, with two games per night – one in each of the four venues and the first semifinal will be played on August 16, with the second the following night, the venue is yet to be confirmed.
