SAN FRANCISCO, November 26, (THEWILL) – Ladan Bosso, coach of Nigeria’s Under-20 national team, has named a formidable squad for the U-20 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) zonal qualifiers, which kickoff on Saturday, December 5 in Cotonou, Benin Republic.
From the team sheet, the squad includes goalkeepers John Amah, who featured at the 2018 U-17 AFCON qualifiers in Niger, Kola Oladipo from Crown FC and Abia Warriors shot stopper Chibueze Lambert.
The pair of Kwara United defenders Isaiah Ejeh and Chris Nweze, who netted a brace when they beat Nigerian Professional Football club Nasarawa United, as well as club mate and winger Farawola Olawale were pencilled in.
Also included are two players from Lagos side 36 Lion FC, the winger Azeez Oseni, who deputises as the team’s playmaker and defensive midfielder Liameed Quadri, who featured for his country at the last All Africa Games in Morocco.
The others are Israel-based forward Peter Olawale, Chisom Orji, who was part of the previous Under-23 team, Nimrod Silas of Plateau United, Mike Zaruma and Adewale Oladoyin from non-league side Water FC.
The Flying Eagles are schedule to open their qualifying campaign on Saturday, December 6 against Cote d’Ivoire U-20 side.
