Ange Postecoglou’s team had trailed Rangers by six points at Christmas, but they went a staggering 31 games without defeat in the weeks and months thereafter.
Before Postecoglou was hired in the dugout and managed a team overhaul, the Bhoys ended 25 points behind their Glasgow opponents previous season.
Giorgos Giakoumakis provided the decisive moment on Wednesday night, rising to head home a superb cross from Anthony Ralston eight minutes into the second period, sending the away fans into raptures.
Celtic only needed a point, but they were on their way to winning all three, but they let sloppiness creep into their play. After hitting the post twice, the hosts eventually equalised thanks to Manchester United loanee Dylan Levitt.
From a distance of 25 yards, the 21-year-old struck an unstoppable effort into the net. Both teams had chances to win it, but Celtic eventually got the point they needed to regain the Scottish Premiership.
