November 13, (THEWILL) – World Kindness Day, celebrated worldwide on November 13, is a global day to promote the importance of being kind to each other and to yourself.
It is a day to remind humanity “of the importance of being kind” on a daily basis.
While the purpose of the day is to help everyone understand that compassion for others is what binds humanity, the CBA Foundation reiterates the need for us all to make kindness a norm.
Founded in 2015, the Chinwe Bode-Akinwande (CBA) Foundation, is primarily dedicated to promoting the protection of underprivileged widows in Nigeria and their vulnerable children,
The Foundation has pursued this mission with a focus to reach out to as many underprivileged widows and their vulnerable children.
However, on the occasion of 2021 World Kindness Day, the CBA Foundation enjoined us all to look at the underprivileged widows that we find all around us and their vulnerable children.
In doing this, the Foundation shares seven “ways to start making kindness the norm in our daily lives
These it said include : “sending an uplifting text to a friend or family member; extending a wave and smiles even while on traffic; make kindness, laughter and delight a daily routine; going slightly outside the comfort zone at least once a day to make someone smiles; sharing a compliment with a co-worker or friend, teaching out to a family member you have not spoken to in a while and offering a cup of coffee to a friend, stranger, or even yourself
The Foundation however noted that the ways could also be applied in our local ways, suggesting that zobo could be a better treat than coffee.
While there may be different cultural and religious interpretation to kindness, what it is in its simplest and basic form is shared across cultures and across religions.
“If deliberately and generously extended to the disadvantaged and vulnerable groups in society, it would bring some measure of heaven to their world.”
