June 06, (THEWILL) – Cardiff City are set to make contract offers to Wales stars, Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey.
In the World Cup playoffs, Wales qualified for the first time since 1958 when Bale’s free-kick ended up in the back of the Ukraine net thanks to a terrible deflection from Andriy Yarmolenko on Sunday. This prompted Bale to put his retirement plans on hold.
Bale’s focus has shifted to finding a new club for the 2022/2023 season with Cardiff said to be preparing to make an audacious move for the 32-year-old. Bale has never played club football in Wales, but he was born in Cardiff, and the Bluebirds are hoping to entice him in on a short-term deal that may continue beyond the current season if Cardiff can reclaim their Premier League status.
Despite the fact that the earnings on offer in the Championship are nowhere like the £600,000 per week that Bale earned at Real, he is said to be willing to take a pay reduction to join his next team.
Cardiff are prepared to compete for Ramsey, another Welsh star who might be on the market this summer, in addition to Bale. A move for Ramsey, who came through the Cardiff academy, is complicated by the fact that he is still under contract with Juventus for another year. However, he might be available on a free transfer.
