September 08, (THEWILL) – The People’s Elephant of Aba, Enyimba International FC have announced the appointment of Caleb Esu to the technical crew of Nigeria’s most successful domestic club in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) era.
It comes as part of the Enyimba’s internal reconstitution of their coaching department ahead of the 2021/22 season, to offer them a diverse array of expertise to call upon for the challenges to come in the domestic competition and on the continent.
As THEWILL reported, former head coach Fatai Osho parted ways with the two-time African club competition Champions in August. Enyimba has therefore drafted Esu to be part of the new technical backroom staff it is setting up.
As a CAF Licence A holder, Esu moves to Enyimba from Dakkada FC, the Uyo, Akwa Ibom-based club where he was in charge until his appointment in Aba to join the eight-time champions of the Nigerian top flight.
At Dakkada, Esu demonstrated his pristine coaching talents when he led the Uyo club to a top half table finish in their first season in the NPFL. Those skills will come in handy for the People’s Elephant, who are looking to return to reckoning on the continent and better their second-place finish in the NPFL from last season.
