BEVERLY HILLS, January 26, (THEWILL) – The Confederation of African Football (CAF) opened the application process of media accreditation for the final tournament of the Total Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations, Mauritania 2021 on Tuesday. The deadline was set for Monday, February 8.

The continental football governing body invited media organisations and relevant bodies interested in covering the tournament to apply for accreditation via the CAF Media Channel.

CAF made certain to stress that all media organisations and relevant bodies are to take cognisance of the fact that in line with the CAF Guidelines to the COVID-19 global pandemic, it was going to restrict media attendance in order to remain compliant with the established protocols under health and safety regulations.

The Confederation therefore added that approval to access the CAF Media Channel was no guarantee that accreditation was granted. Other points of order CAF intended participating media channels to keep in mind were as follows:

• All applications were subject to confirmation.

• Confirmation was not handled on a first-come, first served basis.

• Successful applicants will be notified and provided with further information in due course.

• International applicants are responsible for securing their own visas to Mauritania.

Mauritania will host the Total U-20 Africa Cup of Nations tournament, with the opening game to kick-off the competition on Sunday, February 14 all the way to Thursday, March 4 in the host cities of Nouakchott and Nouadhibou.
