CAF Approves 4,000 Spectators For Black Queens, Super Falcons AWCON Qualifier

October 23, (THEWILL) – The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has approved Ghana’s request to admit fans to Sunday’s 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) first qualifier in Accra between Ghana’s Black Queens and Nigeria’s Super Falcons.

For the crucial match, 4,000 spectators will be allowed into the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) informed stakeholders that the match will be played in accordance with the approved CAF/FIFA COVID-19 protocols.

The Black Queens are 2-0 down after the first leg, which was held on Wednesday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos. THEWILL recalls that Uchenna Kanu’s two headed goals in the first half sealed the win for the nine-time AWCON champions.

The match at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday is scheduled for a 5 pm local time kickoff. The AWCON, which Morocco will host next year, will serve as a qualifying tournament for the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand in 2023.
