November 05, (THEWILL) – Grammy awarding winning singer, Damini Ogulu, better known as Burna Boy, has replied a fan-troll who accused him of always singing about the sufferings in Africa for financial benefit.
The troll who has been identified as Dera, took to Twitter to rant about how Nigerian artists, especially Burna Boy, make use of the ‘Africans suffering’ story for their own gain.
According to Dera, Burna Boy doesn’t sing about the beauty and the wonderful talents that come out of the African continent like other artists.
Dera also compared Burna’s lyrics to Wizkid’s who Burna Boy said in an interview ‘only sings about bitches’. According to Dera, even Fela, who they are trying to copy never portrayed Africans like Burna is doing presently.
Reacting to Dera’s Tweet, Burna Boy stated that his style of music is different from others and he stated that Dera and everyone who thinks like her deserve only the worst in life.
The singer also stated that Dera and her type only come to Africa for holidays and have no idea of what’s really going on and he pointed out that if he wanted to be like other artists, he would have collected the millions offered by politicians and keep quiet.
According to Burna Boy, when it comes to making music about women and sex, he has proven again and again that he is simply the best.
