BEVERLY HILLS, April 07, (THEWILL) – Popular Nigerian celebrities have made the “100 Icons from Africa” list compiled by Forbes.
Among the Nigerians on the list are: Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, Omotola Ekeinde, Genevieve Nnaji, Funke Akindele-Bello, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Mr. Eazi, among others.
Also, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the Director General of the World Trade Organization, featured on the list.
According to Forbes, the list was selected from Hollywood exports and Grammy artists to award-winning ideas that could help the world.
It also disclosed that the list is a way of “celebrating those whose ideas, inventions, and influential role models have aided Africa’s growth over the last decade.”
“This is a way of celebrating those also with the award-winning ideas that had defined the African continent and influential role models that have spelt Africa’s growth over the last decade,” it stated on its Twitter handle.
According to Forbes, Burna Boy is one of the biggest and most successful African artistes on the continent and Genevieve was described as a trailblazer of Nollywood.
