Buhari Returns To Abuja From Expo 2020

December 05, (THEWILL) – President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to Abuja after participating in the EXPO 2020 in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.

The president touched down at the presidential wing of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja at 3:32 am.

He was received by his Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mohammed Bello and heads of security agencies.

During his four-day trip, President Buhari called on world leaders to reinforce partnerships to limit the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The expo provided an opportunity for the Nigerian delegation to highlight significant strides made in the economy in the last six years to woo foreign investors.

“Our participation in EXPO DUBAI 2020 is a great opportunity to showcase the potential of Africa’s largest economy, at the single most important global event of its kind to take place in the Middle East, Africa and the South East Asian regions in recent years.

“Nigeria is participating in this epoch-making event in order to explore opportunities that are capable of unlocking the huge potentials that abound in our country, as we make conscious efforts to be a strategic partner of choice for the global community,” President Buhari said on Friday, during Nigeria Day at the EXPO.

The president on Saturday, addressed a trade and investment forum organised by the Nigerian Arabian Gulf Chamber of Commerce, Nigeria’s Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment and the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC)

He was accompanied on the trip by the ministers of foreign affairs, industry, trade and investment, and finance, budget and national planning.
