Buhari Mourns APC Campaign Song Composer, Isyaku Forest

September 13, (THEWILL) – President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed sadness over the passing of Hausa poet and singer, Isyaku ‘Forest’ Mohammed.

In a condolence message to the deceased’s family, the president described Forest’s death as a great loss to Nigeria’s “political and cultural heritage.”

According to Buhari, the late ‘Forest’ was a household name in many parts of Nigeria, who used his melodious voice and unparalleled music compositions to campaign for his victory and that of candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“His music and that of his compatriots enthralled followers who kept faith with the party.

“He will forever remain in our thoughts. My condolences to his family, friends and admirers”, he said.

The condolence message was delivered to the deceased’s family by a presidential delegation led by Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity.

Others on the presidential delegation were Ahmed Idris, the Accountant-General of the Federation, and Faruk Adamu Aliyu, APC leader in Jigawa.

Speaking through Hajiya Habiba, the mother, Dauda Kahutu (Rarara) and Yusuf Haruna (Baban Chinedu), two foremost singers, the family thanked Buhari for standing with them.
