August 02, (THEWILL) – Security operatives of the Police Elite Squad, Operation Zenda, on Monday rescued Mrs. Ann Unenge, wife of the Benue State Commissioner for Lands and Survey.
THEWILL had reported that Mrs. Unenge was kidnapped on July 30, 2021.
During the rescue operation, three kidnappers were killed by the police.
The state’s Governor Samuel Ortom confirmed the incident to journalists in Makurdi.
Ortom, who called on the Federal Government to clamp down hard on bandits and kidnappers, expressed concerns over the growing cases of kidnapping and other organised crime across the country.
He also expressed optimism that the nation would surmount all her security challenges.
