BREAKING: Edo Directs Enforcement Of “No Vaccination Card, No Entry” In Public Offices

September 17, (THEWILL) – The Edo state government has directed the enforcement of its “No Vaccination Card, No Entry” in all government facilities as of Sept.15 as a means of curbing the spread of the coronavirus disease in the state.

This is contained in a circular signed by the Permanent Secretary, Office of the Head of Service, Governor’s Office, Edo state, Mrs. P.E Aziegbemhin.

The circular, marked Ref No HOS 548/40, was addressed to the Secretary to the State Government, Chief of Staff, Permanent Secretaries, Auditor-general (State, local govts), Accountant General, Chairman (State Civil and Local Govt. Service Commission), Heads, Extra-ministerial Departments, Chief Executives (Boards, Parastatals and Institutions of Higher Learning).

It reads: “I am directed to inform you that following government’s directive in respect of the above subject, the Security and Safety Pillar Committee of the safe response team on COVID-19 has been mandated to fully enforce the “No Vaccination Card No Entry” rule in all Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies, with effect from Wednesday, 15th September, 2021.

“During the exercise, the Security Team will ensure that Civil/Public servants as well as visitors to all public offices, tender a duly certified COVID-19 vaccination card at the office entry point. Persons unable to produce vaccination card will not be granted access.

“All Accounting Officers are to give the contents of this circular the wildest publicity to enable compliance with the Edo State policy on COVID-19 vaccination.”
