Last-place Real Betis have fired coached Pepe Mel after a poor start to the Spanish league season.
Betis president Miguel Guillen says “it’s a tough decision but we needed a change of dynamics and results.”
Betis says former Villarreal coach Juan Carlos Garrido, who led Belgian side Club Brugge more recently, will take over until the end of the season.
Betis have 10 points from 15 games.
