Benue: Saraki Begs For Votes As Atiku Promises To Light Up Nigeria With 5-Point Agenda

May 18, (THEWILL) – Former president of the senate, Bukola Saraki and Nigerian former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, are jostling over Benue delegates in the forthcoming presidential primaries, with each listing what to do for the state and country.

While Saraki, who was in the state and received on arrival on Sunday by governor Samuel Ortom, before departing to Rivers State, Atiku was hosted by the State Deputy Governor, Engr Benson Abounu and led him to the State secretariat of the party.

Saraki in his address, said the North central Nigeria has worked for emergence of others geopolitical zones of the country to produce president, but have not benefited from same position.

According to the former governor of Kwara state, it is now the time for north central Nigeria to produce the next president in next year’s general election.

According to him, as former governor, senator and president of the senate, he has all it takes to rule Nigeria and appealed to PDP delegates, as well as Benue people to see him as one of them as they will reap some benefits, if he is elected as president.

Similarly, Atiku Abubakar said that if elected president, come 2023 general elections, his five points agenda would be implemented to ensure peace and unity in the country.

Interacting with the State Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party and potential delegates in Makurdi on Monday, the presidential aspirant said experience is the best teacher, calling on delegates from the state to place him above others to emerge victorious.

Alhaji Atiku, who declined to speak with Journalists however, assured PDP leadership in the state that he will operate a 5-point agenda such as quality Education, Security, Unity, Restructuring (more powers and resources to Local Governments and States) and Human Capital development.

The presidential hopeful was emphatic on improvement of education sector because according to him, he did not experience strike action even for a single day throughout his educational career.

Atiku was led to the PDP Secretariat by the State Deputy Governor, Engr Benson Abounu, where the State Chairman of the party, Sir John Ngbede, guaranteed him the support of Benue delegates at the forthcoming primaries
