Bayelsa Assembly renders 2nd account of stewardship

June 24, (THEWILL)- The Bayelsa State House of Assembly on Thursday rendered its second account of stewardship.

Speaking during the maiden Press Briefing organised to commemorate the Third Session of the Sixth State Assembly, Member representing Ekeremor Constituency One and Chairman, House Committee on Information and Orientation, Hon. Tari Porri, stated that a total of 21 Bills had been passed into law by the Sixth Assembly.

Porri noted that the House, during its first session, passed 12 Bills into law while nine Bills were also passed into law during the second session of the Sixth Assembly.

He emphasized that while the House was committed towards the basic responsibilities of making laws for the progress and development of the state, oversight and members representing their constituents, the Sixth Assembly led by the Rt. Hon. Abraham Ngobere had also passed a vote of confidence on the state’s Governor Douye Diri.

The assembly lauded the Governor for his developmental strides, noting that he had demonstrated commitment towards the infrastructural development of the state.

The assembly spokesman averred that as the House commenced its third session of the Sixth Assembly, members would redouble their efforts in the discharge of the mandates given them by their constituents in ensuring effective representation.
