March 21, (THEWILL) – Barcelona snapped a five-game losing streak against Real Madrid in spectacular fashion on Sunday, winning the Clasico 4-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Xavi’s side dominated from the start and led 2-0 at halftime with goals from the rejuvenated Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ronald Araujo. Ferran Torres and Aubameyang, again, completed the scoring before the hour mark.

In the early moments, Federico Valverde forced a great save from Marc-Andre ter Stegen, while Thibaut Courtois stopped Aubameyang and Ousmane Dembele in short succession.

Torres then sliced a shot narrowly wide from just beyond the penalty area before Aubameyang headed in Dembele’s right-wing cross from inside the six-yard box in the 29th minute to open the scoring.

Soon after, Courtois denied Aubameyang a second, but Madrid fell to 2-0 after 38 minutes when Araujo nodded in Dembele’s corner from eight yards.

Torres made up for a glaring miss 20 seconds into the second half with Barca’s third goal in the 47th minute, blasting into the net after Aubameyang’s back-heeled pass had beautifully picked him up.

After being passed in by Torres, Aubameyang made it 4-0 in the 51st minute with a magnificent finish over Courtois, the goal given by VAR after it had been initially ruled out for offside.

Torres, Aubameyang, and Dembele all had great chances to add to Madrid’s misery, but it did not matter in the end as Barcelona extended their unbeaten LaLiga record to 11 games in spectacular fashion.

Although Xavi’s third-placed side has a game in hand, the Blaugrana are still 12 points behind Carlo Ancelotti’s league leaders.

Yet, after Ernesto Valverde, Xavi became only the second Blaugrana head coach to be undefeated in his first 10 away games in LaLiga. If the Catalan giants keep playing like today on the road, Xavi will easily beat the 18 away victory streak set by Valverde.
