Bale Hangs Choice Of Next Destination On Wales’ World Cup Chances

May 17, (THEWILL) – Gareth Bale’s representative has said that his client’s choice on his immediate future would be influenced by his country’s chances of qualifying for this year’s FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

As Bale’s contract with Real Madrid expires this summer, speculation about his next move includes a return to previous club, Tottenham Hotspur, a transfer

to the Championship with home town club, Cardiff City, and possibly, retirement if Wales fail to qualify.

Bale is unlikely to make a choice until after Wales’ World Cup play-off final on June 5 against either Scotland or Ukraine.

Bale’s representative, Jonathan Barnett, however, admitted that a return to English football is the most likely option for him, but that everything depends on the World Cup outcome for Wales.
