July 26, (THEWILL) – Nigerian actress and comedian, Princess, has alleged that embattled actor, Baba Ijesha, begged her to allow him to commit suicide after she caught him allegedly molesting her foster child.

She spoke as a witness in the ongoing trial of the actor before the special offences court unit of the Lagos state high court on Monday.

THEWILL writes that Baba Ijesha is being tried on a six-count charge, which includes sexual assault by penetration, indecent treatment of a child, and sexual assault.

In the court session, Princess again stated her own account of how she caught the 48-year-old molesting her daughter using a closed-circuit television (CCTV).

She stated that shortly after she entered the room where the incident happened, the film star begged her to keep the matter away from the public or allow him to commit suicide instead.

He said: “When I entered the room where the incident occurred, he prostrated and started begging me. He said I can beat him or get something to hit him.

“Just like what my daughter told me, he (Baba Ijesha) narrated what he did after I caught him. He asked if we can allow him jump over the balcony or drink insecticide instead of handing him over to the police.

“He said he wanted to commit suicide. He also tried to bribe me, asked me to sell all he had so I can take the proceeds but I refused and insisted that the law must take its course in the matter.”

According to Princess, after the arrest of the actor, he allegedly offered her money when police brought him to her house for a fact-finding exercise.

“At the police station, he kept begging. There was a point when the police brought him to my house for further investigation, he started begging and offered me money again in the presence of the officers,” she added.
