BEVERLY HILLS, August 01, (THEWILL) – Gabonese striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, scored twice to help Arsenal beat Chelsea 2-1 to lift their record 14th English FA Cup.
Christian Pulisic opened scoring for the blues in the fifth minute and Aubameyang, whose future at the Emirates Stadium remains unsettled, equalised in the 26th minute when he scored a penalty after he was fouled by Cesar Azpilicueta.
The Gabonese then scored his second goal in the 67th minute, earning the Gunners a well deserved victory over a 9-man Chelsea, who lost Kovacic to a red card and Pedro to injury.
Responding to a question about his future at the club after the game, Aubameyang said: “Nothing. Just today and the trophy. That’s it!”
THEWILL reports that Manager Mikel Arteta becomes the first person to win the FA Cup with Arsenal as both a captain and a manager.
