August 18, (THEWILL) – Manchester United, have hit another brick wall in attempts to improve their scoring after La Liga side Atlético Madrid turned down a bid of €130 million for striker Joao Félix.
The English Premier League team, was prepared to make a significant offer for the Portuguese attacker, but Atlético informed them that Félix, would not be leaving the Wanda Metropolitano this summer.
Félix, is considered one of the most crucial players in the team and the one around whom manager Diego Simeone and the Atlético directors believe they can construct a successful squad, not just for this year but for years down the line.
Félix played his first game of the summer against Manchester United in a friendly match in Oslo, Norway. The Portuguese player, showed off all of his skills to help Simeone’s team defeat Erik Ten Hag’s group and appears to have caught the eye of the United recruiters.
In Madrid, Félix is aware that this is his chance to set a marker, at the age of 22. Since moving from Benfica, it has been challenging for him to adjust to the team, but he is now fully integrated and anxious to start this season. The forward, who feels appreciated by the supporters and the team, began the new La Liga campaign against Getafe with a hat-trick of assists.
