Arunma Oteh Leaves World Bank

BEVERLY HILLS, October 30, (THEWILL) – Ms. Arunma Oteh, a former Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) DG and current World Bank vice president, will leave her position at the Bank to join Oxford University as an academic scholar.

Oteh, according to wire reports, will be at St Antony’s College of the University as from January 2019.

THEWILL recalls that Ms Oteh was appointed Vice President and Treasurer, World Bank Group in 2015, where she and her team have been responsible for managing its US$200 billion debt portfolio, as well as an asset portfolio of almost US$200 billion for the World Bank Group and 65 external clients, including central banks, pension funds, and sovereign wealth funds.

World Bank’s president, Jim Yong Kim, thanked Oteh for her service to the Bank. He said: “Her committed service to the World Bank Group, to our mission, and to our clients around the world we wish her the best at Oxford”.

Prior to her appointment as SEC DG, Ms Oteh served as the Vice President of Corporate Management & Corporate Services of African Development Bank (AfDB).
