March 24, (THEWILL) –Liverpool’s manager Jurgen Klopp and his Arsenal counterpart Mikel Arteta are among the five nominees for the Premier League manager of the month award for March.
Chelsea’s Thomas Tuchel, Leicester City’s Brendan Rodgers, and Tottenham Hotspur’s Antonio Conte, round up the list of nominees, according to the League.
All of the managers in contention for the award each won three Premier League games in the current month before the international break.
Arsenal tightened their hold on a top-four spot in March, with convincing wins against Leicester and Aston Villa, putting the Gunners three points clear of their nearest opponents in the UEFA Champions League qualification places.
In March, Klopp’s Liverpool were the only team to defeat Arsenal. The impressive Reds cut the gap between themselves and league leaders Manchester City to just one point, winning all three Premier League games without conceding a goal.
Tuchel led Chelsea to three wins in a row in March. To his credit, the former Dortmund and PSG manager kept the Blues’ ship afloat on the pitch while the club’s boardroom was in disarray following the UK government sanctions that affected club operations.
Also in March, Rodgers led Leicester City to a mini-resurgence, while Conte’s Tottenham impressed in a massive win against West Ham to secure the Italian a place among the nominees.
