BEVERLY HILLS, May 14, (THEWILL) – Putting their miserable end to the season aside, north London English Premier League side, Arsenal, have released their away shirt for the 2021/22 season.

Designed in collaboration with largest sportswear manufacturer in Europe, Adidas, the shirt pays homage to their 1971 league and FA Cup double with the design.

It was designed with the mind of commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Gunners’ first ever league and cup double, when their 1971 FA Cup triumph over Liverpool came just a few days after the club had been crowned champions of England for the eighth time with coach Bertram Mee at the helm.

In the annals of FA Cup finals, that showpiece event at Wembley remains one of the most dramatic to date. Arsenal secured a thrilling winning comeback against the men from Anfield, with beautiful extra time goals from Eddie Kelly and Charlie George.

Mee’s charges donned their yellow kit for that iconic final at Wembley and the club have decided to honour the 50th anniversary of their success in next season’s away design. The yellow shirt features the famous Arsenal cannon in place of the usual club crest, with dark blue trim features along the collar and sleeves for a modern finish.

Printed on the inside of the neck are the words “Arsenal for Everyone” as a sign of unity and a celebration of the diversity of the Gunners fan base, spread across the four corners of the earth.

To celebrate, Arsenal plan a kit launch, part of which they confirm will include the release of a series of short films made by players and fans as they share their personal stories of their experience with the club to give it a more personal touch and coat it with a feeling of nostalgia.
