Arrest Of Residents Plying Roads With Unregistered Vehicles, Ogun CP Tells Officers

November 27, (THEWILL) – The Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Lanre Bankole, has directed that anybody plying the road with an unregistered vehicle in any part of the state should be arrested and charged to court.

Bankole disclosed this in a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, which was made available to newsmen in Abeokuta, the state capital.

According to the CP, the command has observed with concern that most of the vehicles or motorcycles used in carrying out criminal activities across the state are unregistered. He also urged members of the public to ensure their vehicles are registered.

“The Ogun state police command has observed with concern that most of the vehicles/motorcycles being used in carrying out criminal activities across the state are mostly unregistered ones.

“Some of these criminals are using unregistered vehicles to perpetrate crimes such as kidnapping, armed robbery as well as cult related violent clashes.”

“In view of this, members of the public are hereby advised to ensure that their vehicles are duly registered before using it in any part of Ogun state, to avoid had-I-know situation,” Bankole said.

The CP, while assuring the people of the state of adequate security, asked them to help the police by sharing useful information that will lead to the arrest of criminals in the state.
