SAN FRANCISCO, March 11, (THEWILL) – The High Court in Abuja has ordered that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, must hold its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting scheduled for March 17, 2020 and blocked any member of the party from taking any action to thwart it.
Justice S.U. Bature gave the order (SEE RULING BELOW) Wednesday in suit filed by Comrade Mustapha Salihu, the party’s National Vice Chairman (Northwest).
The judge granted an Interim Order particularly restraining Babatunde Ogala – National legal adviser, Lanre Issa-Onilu – National publicity Secretary and Waziri Bulama – National secretary and the APC from obstructing the meeting.
THEWILL reports that the APC has been engulfed in crisis with powerful and influential stakeholders in the party determined to force the embattled National Chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, out of office following his highhandedness and lack of capacity to manage a party as complex as the APC.
A high court in Abuja last week sanctioned his suspension from office after the party in Edo State, his home state suspended him from the party.
THEWILL had exclusively reported earlier that President Muhammadu Buhari had withdrawn his support for the politician and tacitly given approval for his ouster using legal means.
