SAN FRANCISCO, June 19, (THEWILL) – The leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Etsako West Local Government Area (LGA) and in Adams Oshiomhole’s Ward 10, who suspended him, say they will not defect from the party, insisting that his suspension stands.
The leaders and the party executives suspended the embattled national chairman earlier in the year citing his divisive leadership. The Court of Appeal upheld their decision a few days ago.
The leaders who are loyalists of Governor Godwin Obaseki, who decamped from the party earlier in the week and joined the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Friday, told journalists at the APC state secretariat in Benin City that they wanted the public to know that they have not decamped to the PDP or any other party.
Chairman of the party in Etsako West and Chairman of the APC, Ward 10, Ezolomhe Rabiat and Oshawo Stephen, respectively, made the declaration.

THEWILL recalls that Mr. Anslem Ojezua, the Chairman of the party in the state, a staunch loyalist of Obaseki, recognized by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had also earlier affirmed to journalists that his faction, which controls 18 local government area executives, would remain in the party.
THEWILL had previously reported exclusively of Obaseki’s plot to engage the APC in a protracted crisis so as to further weaken it ahead of the governorship election in September after Oshiomhole masterminded his disqualification.
