March 13, (THEWILL) – A top contender for the gubernatorial ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party in Plateau State, Hon Caleb Mutfwang, has dismissed the ruling All Progressives Congress as a political contraption, which is at best a “business venture between President Muhammadu Buhari and Ahmed Bola Tinubu”.
Speaking at the Teachers’ House in Mangu Local Government Area after his declaration to contest the governorship of the State on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mutfwang noted that the APC as a matter of fact is a contraption, pointing out that since it came into being as a “business venture between President Buhari and Tinubu”, the only successful event held by it is the presidential convention that produced Buhari in 2014.
Hon Mutfwang who said his priorities if elected governor of Plateau State would be agriculture, security, mining, and promoting a business climate to enhance the people’s economic well being, called on Nigerians to come out en masse in the opportunity of the next general elections and vote out the APC because the party has failed to boost the fortunes of Nigerians, but rather left it impoverished and the citizens devalued economically.
The former executive chairman of Mangu local government council said apart from repositioning the state security outfit, Operation Rainbow, to respond adequately to the yawning security challenges in the State, he will also favour the establishment of a State Police to enhance anti-crime surveillance of the State of elected governor in 2023.
Noting that he is “an apostle of peace”, the gubernatorial aspirant said ultimately power comes from God, and called on all his supporters to eschew all forms of trouble during electioneering campaigns, and steer clear of politics of violence.
The declaration of readiness to contest the state governorship event commenced from the Ampang West ward of the aspirant, with a spur to Gindiri, to the Mangu PDP office, and culminated in the senatorial district headquarters in Pankshin LGA where a mammoth crowd threatened the expansive space of the office,, with. former ALGON members of the 17 local government areas of the state in attendance and pledging support.
