October 21, (THEWILL) – Barcelona starlet Ansu Fati will be at the Camp Nou until 2027 following confirmation from the club that the talented youngster has signed a new contract with a €1 billion release clause.

This season, the 18-year-old has been given the number 10 jersey, following in the footsteps of Barcelona legend Lionel Messi. The club has made it clear that the teenager is their future, and the last step was to sign him to a long-term contract.

Barça confirmed Fati would stay in Catalonia following their 1-0 victory over Dynamo Kyiv on Wednesday evening. The club announced that the Spaniard had signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2027, with a €1 billion release clause included in the deal.

Even though he had been forced to wait after suffering a serious knee injury that necessitated a series of operations, the starlet is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious talents in world football.

Fati, on the other hand, made his comeback from injury against Levante in September, and he scored on the occasion. He came on as a substitute in the defeat to Atletico Madrid, but started the 3-1 victory over Valencia and scored once more.

He is regarded as the next global superstar to emerge from Barcelona’s La Masia academy, and his return from injury is one of the few reasons for Blaugrana fans to be hopeful for the future.

Barça have already secured one wonderkid this season, with the announcement that Pedri had signed a long-term contract with the club that included a €1 billion release clause. Last season, the Spanish midfielder had a breakout season for both club and country, and he is now a permanent member of the Catalan squad.

Fati and Pedri are a beacon of hope for supporters who have witnessed their club’s financial mismanagement in recent years. After a tense watch in the Champions League win on Wednesday, the teenager’s new contract will bring a smile to their faces for a change.
