Amusan Breaks World Record In World Championships 100m Hurdle Semi-Finals

July 25, (THEWILL) – Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan remarkably broke the women’s 100-metre hurdles world record in the wee hours of Monday, during the World Championships’ semi-final in Oregon.

Kendra Harrison’s previous record of 12.20 seconds was broken by the new time of 12.12 set by the Nigerian as the United States of America sprinter came in second in the heat.

25-year-old Amusan held nothing back at Hayward Field, a day after she broke the African record in the event in the opening heats, while most athletes try to conserve their energy in the semi-final.

She will compete in the final later on Monday.
