Newcastle Striker, Shola Ameobi will lead the Super Eagles attack tonight alongside the Russia based duo of Ahmed Musa and Obinna Nsofor while Victor Moses starts from the bench
Shola was capped by Nigeria against Venezuela in a friendly match late 2012 in the USA but was held back by Newcastle from joining the team at the Afcon 2013.
” I’m just excite to be back with the team” Ameobi told supersport.com
Austin Ejide takes over from Vincent Enyeama in goal and will also lead the team as Captain. Ejide told supersport.com that “We are here to support our coach in his vision to build a formidable team as we prepare for our crucial game against Malawi next month.”
He also added that ” We are taking it as a big fight because we are playing Bafana Bafana, with a lot of history between us, so this is more than a friendly match”
The defence line is practically the regular back-four except Azubuike Egwuekwe comes in for the injured and absent Kenneth Omeruo.
John Ogu replaces John obi Mikel in midfield and will line-up alongside Ogenyi Onazi and Sunday Mba
