April 11, (THEWILL) – Returnee right-back for Barcelona, Dani Alves, wants Lionel Messi to come to Camp Nou for one “last dance” with him because he believes there is no better place for him to practice his craft.

Since joining Paris Saint-Germain last summer, Messi has been unable to reclaim the form that has made him one of the best players in the sport’s history, with only eight goals in all competitions so far this season.

Alves, who played alongside Messi at Barcelona from 2008 to 2016, believes that the Argentina captain should conclude his career in Spain.

“I don’t know what he thinks or wants to do. He could come back for a little year with me for a ‘last dance’. Why not? There’s nowhere better than here. We cannot be better off than at Barça. He left and tried the experience. It’s time to return home if he wants,” Alves said.

There have been claims that Messi is dissatisfied with his life in Paris and that the 34-year-old would like to return to Barcelona in the near future – though this appears unlikely given that the Catalan giants are still struggling financially and would be unable to afford his exorbitant wages.

Except a gentleman agreement is reached with PSG, who may also be interested in divesting from the contractual engagements of the player, as he has not provided the spark his transfer promised and has become the target of fan booing, he will remain in Paris.

THEWILL recalls that Messi retired from Barcelona last summer after 778 appearances for the club, scoring 672 goals and leading them to ten La Liga crowns, four Champions League trophies, and countless other accolades.
