Akwa Ibom Police Nab 10 Over Killing Of Security Officers… See List Of Recovered Goods

Nigeria Police

BEVERLY HILLS, June 02, (THEWILL) – Akwa Ibom State Police Command says it has arrested 10 suspects over the recent killing of policemen in the state as well as the wanton destruction of property belonging to the government and individuals.

According to a statement by the state command, endorsed by the Commissioner of Police, Andrew Amiengheme, the success recorded followed coordinated raids on the locations of criminal elements at Ntak Ikot Akpan, Abama and Ikot Akpan in Essien Udim, Obot Akara and Ikot Ekpene Local Government Areas by the Joint Task Force.

It would be recalled that in the recent past, there had been a series of unprovoked attacks on security agencies and formations, especially the police, leading to wanton losses of lives and property.

According to the police boss, this trend necessitated the formation of a Joint Task Force (JTF), comprising the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Police Force, the Directorate Secret Service (DSS) and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

“The operations of the Joint Task Force (JTF) have yielded a lot of successes with more still being done.” CP Andrew assured.

He advised the owners of the vehicles to go to the 6 Battalion, Nigerian Army, Ibagwa, or the State Police Headquarters, Uyo with proof of ownership for identification and collection.

He appreciated the immense contributions of the Nigerian Army and other sister security agencies, saying his officers would continue to work as a team in securing Akwa Ibom State.
