Ahmed Musa Names Rufai, Okocha, Yekini In His All-Time Super Eagles Squad

BEVERLY HILLS, May 26, (THEWILL) – Nigerian Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, has revealed his all-time Super Eagles squad predominantly made up of players in Nigerian USA 1994 and France 1998 teams.

Speaking with sports journalist Juliet Bawuah, the 27-year-old player manages to put together an array of stars who rank high in the Nigerian national team’s history.

In goal is Peter Rufai, who is arguably the best goalkeeper the West African nation has ever produced.

Former Chelsea Star, Celestine Babayaro occupies the left-back while the solid duo of Uche Okechukwu and late Stephen Keshi are the centre backs. Benedict Iroha completes the four players at the back as the right-back man.

The ‘headmaster’, Mutiu Adepoju, Midfield maestro, Austin Jay-Jay Okocha, and prolific midfielder, Sunday Oliseh make the list for the midfielders.

Utility winger, Garuba Lawal is at the left-wing of the attack as Finidi George occupies the right-wing position while all-time Super Eagles lead goal scorer, Rashidi Yekini completes the star-studded squad of the Al-Nassr striker.

The substitute list parades array of stars like Ike Shorunmu, Daniel ”the bull” Amokachi, Emmanuel Amunike, Samson Siasia, Austin Eguavoen, Tijani Babagida, and Nwankwo Kano.

Musa’s name is etched in the history books of Nigeria as the only Nigeria to have scored more than once in a world cup match and the only Nigerian to score in the two world cup competitions.

His tenacity and pace contribute to his goal tally for the Super Eagles scoring 15 in 91 games.
