February 24, (THEWILL) – Paris Saint-latest Germain’s attempt to bind Kylian Mbappe down to an exorbitant new deal has reportedly been fruitless with the prodigious Frenchman turning it down again.
PSG offered Mbappe a new two-year contract after accepting that he would not commit his long-term future to the club. The wage was significantly higher than that offered by Real Madrid, who are looking to sign Mbappe on a free transfer this summer.
According to sources that have come up with the update on the striker’s contract situation, Mbappe gave the offer significant thought and was humbled by PSG’s desire to commit to him, but the 23-year-old ultimately decided to decline the offer.
Mbappe, as previously stated, is less interested with money and more concerned with the project on offer by his club, where he aspires to be the indisputable focal point.
PSG has attempted to persuade Mbappe that he is capable of filling that position at the Parc des Princes, but he has refused to take the bait and has grown concerned about how politicised the discussions surrounding his future have become.
PSG’s owners, a subsidiary of the Qatari sovereign wealth fund, have focused a lot of their appeals on the forthcoming 2022 World Cup in their homeland, even as the French president has been drawn into attempts to keep Mbappe in Paris.
Mbappe simply wants to concentrate on his football and consider only what is available to him on the field, and his choice is still to leave Paris.
Real are pleased with Mbappe’s professionalism, and are sure that he will stick to his choice to join them at the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer.
The club’s management at the Santiago Bernabeu is prepared to allow Mbappe make his final decision on his own. They believe they have reached an informal deal with the 23-year-old and are simply waiting for the go-ahead, leaving the forward to weigh his alternatives
