Actors Guild Suspends Queeneth Hilbert

June 08, (THEWILL)- The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has announced the indefinite suspension of Nollywood actress, Queeneth Hilberth, from film production activities concerning allegations of professional misconduct.

Bartholomew Aguugo, AGN’s Chief Press Secretary, announced the sanction in a statement on Monday saying that the services of Hilbert had also been withdrawn from all movie sets.

According to him, the decision was based on preliminary investigations carried out on several complaints received from producers and marketers alleging breach of contract by the actress.

In the statement, the spokesman quoted Emeka Rollas, AGN President, as saying that her professional misconduct included abandoning film sets without permission and gross negligence of production timing and protocols.

The actress was also accused of collecting artiste fees without showing up for the production and refusing to refund the said fees after disappointment among other complaints.

The AGN stated that Hilbert’s disposition toward her profession is capable of tarnishing the reputation of the association.

The statement stated that the case had been referred to the national disciplinary committee headed by Sam Dede for a probe.

“While on suspension the actress is expected not to participate in any film production or Guild activities,” it noted. “She was cautioned that the National/State Chapter Taskforce has been mandated to monitor all film locations and production sets across the country as a violation of the suspension rules may lead to further disciplinary actions.”
