SAN FRANCISCO, July 03, (THEWILL) – The Super Eagles of Nigeria will face the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon at the Round of 16 of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Holders Cameroon played out their second successive 0-0 draw at the competition and finished second in their group and thus booked a date with Nigeria.
Cameroon finished with five points but were edged into second place on goals scored by Ghana who beat Guinea-Bissau 2-0.
The Eagles were beaten to the top spot in Group B by Madagascar and that meant they would be facing the second-placed team in Group F.
Though the Super Eagles defeated Cameroon en route to qualifying for the Russia 2018 World Cup, the Lions are bad opponents for Nigeria at the AFCON.
